Maybe other dev teams have done bad direct PR, but this approach is by far worse. We just don't want releases to be said like "Very soon", "2020", "Within 12 months", and TC say and do nothing official, and then the date comes and goes without a word and everyone left wondering why 2020 was even said by anyone, or how TC could let that happen without a word. No one I have seen, and especially not me is saying we want lots of content updates or whatever, we don't want promises, and I and most people would be ok with delays or the game taking even longer than we think. If they are just purposely ignoring that everything is going bad from a PR stance, then that is still bad PR lol. PR is supposed to make you look good, and make people excited for your game. And that's just it, if they have a PR strat, but refuse to actually look at how the fans are reacting to their.
"We are alive and xbox news was offical or something" even just "We are alive", a single tweet even.
Sure sure, but litearlly all that would take to turn this around is literally what the OP said.
